Dark and Deep in the Heart Spring Collection (Dark and Deep in the Heart Seasonal Collections)

About

Three Texas-based tales of terror from the twisted mind of Gary Wrenn. This collection contains the March, April, and May stories from the previously released short reads in the Dark and Deep in the Heart Series.

March: “Thongs and Bongs in Satan’s Shadow”
Texans believe there exists an otherworldly “saying” that can be used for revenge following moments of inconceivable injustice. When heinous crimes lead to heartbreak and death. Some deaths are merely uncalled for, some more violent than others, and some too soon in the lives of those involved. More complex than words can describe, this “saying” is a supernatural entity, a form of communication somewhere between a poem, a chant, a ritual, and a summoning. It is neither good nor bad, a product not of Heaven or Hell, capable of working no matter one’s religious creed, social standing, or ethnicity. Once spoken, it can give the dead a small window of opportunity to return to the land of the living to set the wrongs right. If granted powers from the “saying,” the Returned has only the limit of their imagination in correcting the wrongdoing. Any power they wish, in any form, is at their disposal. Make no mistake, revenge WILL be had, and the wrongdoers WILL receive fair treatment in the eyes of the Returned. The last known sighting of one of these manifestations of the Returned occurred during Spring Break in South Padre Island, Texas, on March 17 and 18, 2014.

April: “Alamo City Dead: A Fiesta Horror Story”
The citizens of San Antonio play host to a viral outbreak during “A Night in Old San Antonio,” the city’s most crowded and exciting yearly party. A group of friends race against the clock to find safety, kick some butt, and make sense of the horrors that befall a beautiful city during its cultural celebration. Zombies, y’all!

May: “Sir Dradel and the Holy Rock”
The greatest Knight of the Round Table…
A quest to restore Camelot to its former glory…
A perilous journey riddled with dark magic, monsters, and bloody battles…

Sir Dradel and the Holy Rock is a classic adventure about courage in a time of unspeakable evil.
Or is it?
